Yeah, you know what today is...I don't have any waxing words about it. I have nothing really of interest to say at this time.
All I can do is remember that day...remember what I was doing and what happened. It's sad how just as you think your getting on your feet another catastrophe happens. Are we strong enough to survive the 9/11 attacks...we answered this question in 2001 in a strong clear voice. We answered with the words of the undefeated nation that had never under gone such trauma before in the present history. We answered, in our oh so arrogant manner that Americans are known the world over for, YES!
This is 2005 now...are we strong enough to survive? Are we strong enough to do what we must? To lay aside these petty hatreds and prejudices and take up blankets and medicine? Are we strong enough to get through the aftermath that was Hurricane Katrina?
We aren't so sure. We aren't so strong. We aren't so undefeated...and we aren't so arrogant anymore.
